Welcome to Southmoor Pediatric Dentistry in Denver

Meet your Denver pediatric dental experts
Dr. Olivia Zeitner, Dr. Zehra Zaid, and Dr. John Rubenstrunk are board-certified specialists in pediatric dentistry, with years of additional, specialized training beyond dental school in child psychology, growth, and development. You can trust our Denver team to care for your child’s oral health needs through every stage of their childhood.
We provide the highest-quality, patient-centered care to infants, children, teens, and young adults from ages 1-21, including those with special care needs. And we’re here for parents as much as we are for kids, because building healthy smiles is a team effort! As the first pediatric practice in Colorado, we’ve cared for more children and more parents than anyone else.
Our Denver office is near the intersection of S. Monaco Parkway and Highway 30, north of Southmoor Park. This location serves the communities of Southmoor, Hilltop, Capital Hill, Cherry Creek, University Park, Cherry Hills, Hampden, Hampden South, Goldsmith, University Hills, Southmoor Park, and others. We are in the Southmoor Professional Building along with Dietmeier Orthodontics and Nelson, Rollert & Wells Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Our dental clinics are designed with kids in mind
At Southmoor Pediatric Dentistry, our patient-centered approach means that you can always count on us to put your child first. Every member of our team operates with a true patient-first mentality because when kids enjoy coming to see the dentist, they’re more likely to build healthy oral habits. We also invite parents to participate at every visit, arming them with as much education and advice as we can. For generations, Southmoor has been working closely with Denver families to create healthy smiles that last a lifetime.

We can’t wait to meet you! Here’s what you can expect

Infant visit (age one)
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends seeing a dentist for the first time by age one–even the tiniest of teeth need professional care. Your pediatric specialist will assess the growth and development of your child’s mouth (including any thumb-sucking or pacifier habits) and provide tips to help you keep their smile clean and healthy.

Toddlers and preschoolers
We do not expect your child to sit in a dental chair on their own or fully cooperate until at least preschool age, and it’s perfectly normal for young children to cry. Don’t worry, we’ve got this! Your care provider will likely perform a lap-to-lap or knee-to-knee examination with a parent or caregiver’s help, providing reassurance along the way.

Elementary to young adult
These are critical years for building a positive attitude about dental care, so we do everything we can to make your child feel welcome and comfortable during their visit. Your pediatric dentist will explain things in age-appropriate terms and show the instruments they’ll be using. And of course, parents are always welcome in the room.

Southmoor Pediatric always has my children's best interests at heart and don't try to "oversell" on anything, ever. My children are always calm and happy during their appointments and enjoy each visit to the dentist.
